Let us tell you that during a conversation with Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Aamir Khan revealed that his decision to produce 'Laapata Ladies' stemmed from both "fear and desire". Reflecting on his career, Aamir Khan shared. He said, "During COVID I had a lot of free time and I kept thinking. I realized that I probably have 15 more years of active work left... who has seen life after that... I wanted to give back to the people whatever I have learned in the last several years. The industry, society, and the country have given me a lot".

Along with this, Aamir Khan further said, "I thought I could do one film a year as an actor, but as a producer, I can make many more films. I want to give a platform to new talent. I can provide a platform for new writers, directors, and everyone involved in this process. 'Laapata Ladies' is the first project in this sense. I want to promote such talent, and hopefully, I will be able to make four to five films so that we can see more such films."

At the same time, Chief Justice Chandrachud also asked about the inspiration behind the film, to which Kiran Rao replied that it all started with an original script by Biplab Goswami. Aamir found this script during the Screen Writers Association competition in 2020 and decided to buy its rights. With this, Kiran shared, "We added more humor to the dramatic narrative. The film has received a lot of love from the audience and I am glad that we brought it to the big screen." He further said that the journey was long and uncertain due to changes in the cinema industry.
