It is very important that we as a nation, especially the younger generation, value the great women and men who fought bravely to ensure that we breathe in a free country. For your information, on April 14, Prime Minister Modi praised Kerala-born lawyer Chettur Shankaran Nair for his courageous stand against the British after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He talked about the Baisakhi celebrations in Punjab and said that this day also marks 106 years of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The Prime Minister said, "Baisakhi was celebrated in Punjab, but it was also the 106th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. One aspect of this massacre is still hidden - it is a human issue. There was a man named Shankaran Nair, whose name many may not have heard. He was a prominent lawyer holding a high position in the British government. He could have enjoyed all the facilities and luxuries, but he decided to renounce it all".

Along with this, during his speech, PM Modi praised Nair's significant contribution and urged every citizen to remember his lasting legacy. He said, "People of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh should know about Shankaran Nair. Every adult and child should know about his contribution. We should remember him - he is an inspiration and a symbol of our patriotic spirit".

Kesari Chapter 2 focuses on the courtroom drama related to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. In the film, R Madhavan is seen playing the role of Neville McKinley, a lawyer representing the British Empire, while Akshay Kumar plays Shankaran Nair, an Indian lawyer who challenges the involvement of the British in the tragic incident. Ananya Pandey also plays a legal professional in the film. The film marks the directorial debut of Karan Singh Tyagi and is inspired by the book The Case That Shook the Empire written by Raghu and Pushpa Palat. The film Kesari Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on 18 April 2025.
