Aanand L Rai spoke about the connection between Tere Ishq Mein and Raanjhanaa. Interestingly, both the films star Dhanush in the lead role. The filmmaker said, "Sometimes when the makers don't want to repeat themselves, the anger of the character and the element of the story becomes similar to your other story. The stories of Raanjhanaa and Tere Ishq Mein are very different. But the anger that Raanjhanaa had created, this is an extension of that; you will feel it. Since the story is not the same, you cannot call it another Raanjhanaa. But there is a Raanjhanaa hidden in it."

About the film 

Directed by Anand L Rai, 'Tere Ishq Mein' stars Dhanush in the lead role, and the music for the film is composed by AR Rahman. The filmmakers are expected to announce the rest of the cast and crew soon. The story of the film is told as a love story set during the independence era. Talking about the work front, Dhanush also has a film with Telugu director Sekhar Kammula. He has announced his next film with Mari Selvaraj after the classic 'Karnan'. He is also reportedly gearing up for the second part of the much-awaited 'Vada Chennai' sequel directed by Vetrimaaran, which his fans are eagerly waiting for.
