Yesterday, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Mumbai's famed Lalbaugcha Raja made its debut appearance for the devotees. The Ganesh idol was adorned in stunning attire and jewelry, including a magnificent 20-kilo gold crown. This crown has become the focal point of attraction, enhancing the grandeur of the deity. The crown, valued at approximately 16 crore rupees and crafted over two months, adds a new level of splendor to the idol.

The magnificent crown was presented to Lord Ganesh by Anant Ambani, the son of Mukesh Ambani, and the Reliance Foundation. Anant Ambani offered the crown with deep respect and devotion to the Ganesh Mandal, further enhancing the grandeur of the celebrations.

Sudeer Sitaram Salvi of the Lalbaugcha Raja Public Ganeshotsav Mandal commented, "We have presented Lalbaugcha Raja's first glimpse in a magnificent manner. The preparations for the Mandal are complete. Starting Saturday, queues for darshan will commence, and we will ensure a wonderful experience for all the devotees."

Festival Duration: As is tradition, Lalbaugcha Raja is celebrating the public Ganeshotsav this year as well. The 10-day festival starts today and will continue until Tuesday, September 17.

Lalbaugcha Raja is Mumbai's most popular public Ganesh Mandal. During Ganeshotsav, people from all over come to seek blessings and fulfill their wishes. Established in 1934, the Mandal features a Ganesh idol that stands about 20 feet tall. The popularity of Lalbaugcha Raja is evident from the large number of visitors, including prominent leaders and film stars. Recently, celebrities such as Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Randeep Hooda and his wife Lin Laishram, and Avika Gor have visited the Mandal. Notably, the fame of Lalbaugcha Raja has grown even further in recent years.

Anant Ambani's 15-Year Connection

Anant Ambani's association with Lalbaugcha Raja dates back 15 years. The Ambani family has consistently participated in Ganeshotsav celebrations and the grand immersion ceremony at Girgaon Chowpatty. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Lalbaugcha Raja committee faced financial difficulties, the Ambani family provided substantial support.

In recognition of Anant Ambani's dedication, he has been appointed as the Principal Advisor of the Mandal's Working Committee.
