Anees Bazmee was admitted to the hospital after Welcome Test screening!

The trailer of director Anees Bazmee's film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released on October 9. The horror-comedy starring Kartik Aaryan, Tripti Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit is getting a tremendous response from the audience. Meanwhile, Anees Bazmee revealed that he once had to be hospitalized because no one laughed after watching the test screening of Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome.

'I did not have work at that time'- Anees Bazmee

In fact, director Anees Bazmee revealed in his latest interview that, "I was in the hospital. When a hundred people don't like your film, you get stressed. I make one film at a time and that project becomes my battle. Today I am at a stage where I can afford to do one or two bad films because I have a huge backlog of work. I did not have work at that time. Apart from this, there were many people associated with the film, including financiers. So I was very stressed. Lying on the hospital bed, I repeated my script scene by scene. After two days I concluded that it works. I firmly believe that this is a very good thing".

Continuing his point, the director further said, "During the entire trial run of Welcome, not a single person laughed in the theatre. But when the film was released, people called it a cult. Today, even 16-17 years after its release, people call it relevant and make memes on it. So we must have done something right". Anees Bazmee further said, "When I made Welcome, people had only one complaint that it is not a comedy. I told them that this is what I have made and now I cannot go to the theatre and tickle people. This is the only comedy that I know how to make. I cannot put tamasha, double meaning, and everything in it. These are shortcuts and I do not believe in them. I believe in writing comedy". Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Firoz Khan, and Mallika Sherawat worked in Welcome, released in 2007.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be released on Diwali

Talking about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, apart from Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Tripti Dimri, and Madhuri Dixit will be seen in the lead roles. The film will be released on Diwali, although its date has not been announced yet. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee, while it is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar and Murad Khetani. The film is going to clash with Rohit Shetty's film Singham Again.
