Anupam Kher is a veteran actor of Hindi films. Anupam Kher often talks openly about his struggles and the ups and downs of his career. Recently, he shared an anecdote when his car was stolen even though he was bankrupt. 

Anupam Kher talked about his struggles

Actually, during a podcast, Anupam Kher spoke openly about his struggles and the ups and downs of his career. He said, "I almost went bankrupt in 2003-2004 while trying to become a TV tycoon. At that time, I was already established and was doing good films, but both my office and house were on the verge of being sold. One day I remembered how, as a struggling actor, I used to go to the Mahalakshmi temple to pray for success. But once I became an actor, I stopped going. I felt that God was angry with me and so my bad days have come".

When Anupam Kher was robbed

After this, Anupam Kher told how his car got stolen in front of him. The actor said, "I don't like driving much, but I drove myself to the temple that day. I left the car running and got out to pray. As soon as I bent down to pray, I saw a thief running away with my car. I quickly took an auto and asked the driver to chase the car, but we could not catch him. So I asked him to take me to the police station. When I told the police how I lost my car, they could not stop laughing. They were rolling on the ground and saying that they could not believe that something like this could happen in real life. They felt as if it was a scene from a film."

Anupam Kher made his acting debut with the critically acclaimed drama Saaransh directed by Mahesh Bhatt. In his decades-long career, he has starred in many iconic films including Ram Lakhan, Tezaab, Lamhe, Dil, Vijay, Khosla Ka Ghosla, A Wednesday, Baby and many more. Anupam will next be seen in Emergency directed by Kangana Ranaut. He plays the role of Indian politician and freedom fighter Jayaprakash Narayan in the upcoming political drama. Kangana plays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film. Emergency also stars Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, late actor Satish Kaushik and others in pivotal roles. The film's new release date has not been announced yet.
