Actually, in an interview, Anupam Kher was asked if he thinks that Tanvi The Great failed at the box office due to the craze of Saiyaara. Responding to this, the actor said, "I don't think this is true. After a few years, when someone asks you which are your five favorite films, you will not name the films that do business in crores. You will name the films that touched your heart. Tanvi The Great may not have collected much, but it is still priceless".

Continuing his talk, Anupam Kher further said, "I recently met a woman outside the theatre, who hugged me tightly and started crying and said that this is the best film she has ever seen. You don't evaluate everything only on the basis of money. If money were everything, then why would people always eat in five-star hotels, and why would anyone go to a dhaba? My film is commercially excellent."

The story of 'Tanvi the Great' revolves around a 21-year-old autistic woman who lives with her mother and grandfather. Inspired by her late father, Indian Army officer Captain Samar Raina, she dreams of saluting the flag at the Siachen Glacier. The film Tanvi the Great collected only ₹2.52 crore at the box office.
