Anurag Kashyap Gets Surat Court Notice: Popular filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is surrounded by controversies due to making objectionable comments on a particular caste (Anurag Kashyap Controversial Statement). Recently, the producer also apologized to the Brahmin community. Now, after a complaint was filed against Anurag Kashyap, Surat's JMFC court has issued a notice against the producer.
Anurag Kashyap will appear in court on May 7
Let us tell you that Anurag Kashyap has received a notice from Surat's JMFC court for commenting on the Brahmin community. This notice has been issued on the basis of a complaint filed by Surat lawyer Kamlesh Rawal on behalf of the Brahmin community. Lawyer Kamlesh Rawal said that he has presented the post posted by Anurag Kashyap on social media and his apology as evidence, which the court accepted and issued a notice. Anurag Kashyap or his lawyer will have to appear in court on May 7 and if they do not appear, the court can give a unilateral decision.
Several sections were taken against Anurag Kashyap
While talking to the media about this matter, lawyer Kamlesh Rawal said, "On April 16, Anurag Kashyap made objectionable remarks about the Brahmin community and Aditya Dutta had asked him to refrain from making such comments. Reacting to this, Kashyap had said - what have Brahmins achieved? Now I have filed a complaint in Surat Court under Section BNS 196, 197, 351, 352, 353 and 356. After examining and verifying all the documents submitted by me, the court has given notice to Kashyap to appear in court on May 7."
This is how the controversy started
In fact, the controversy started after Anurag Kashyap responded to criticism of his film Phule, a biopic based on social reformers Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. A social media user commented on Anurag Kashyap's post, "Brahmins are your fathers..." Responding to this, the filmmaker replied, "I will urinate on Brahmins. Any problem?" The post went viral, sparking outrage among several Brahmin organisations. However, Kashyap later publicly apologised. Following the controversy, Kashyap's daughter Aaliya and her family and colleagues received rape and death threats from online trolls. The director also faced legal action as an FIR was filed against him in Jaipur for using derogatory language towards the community. Actress Gehana Vasisth has filed a complaint against Anurag Kashyap at Mumbai's Oshiwara police station. A person named Sachin Sharma has also filed a complaint against him in Delhi's Anand Vihar. An FIR has been filed against the director in the Kotwali police station of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. A case has also been filed against Anurag Kashyap in Varanasi.
Anurag Kashyap had apologized
Let us tell you that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had recently publicly apologized to the Brahmin community for his statements. The producer while apologizing wrote, "I forgot my limits while replying to someone in anger. And I spoke badly about the entire Brahmin community. That community whose many people have been in my life, are still there and contribute a lot. Today all of them are hurt by me. My family is hurt by me. Many intellectuals, whom I respect, are hurt by my anger and my way of speaking".
