Anurag Kashyap takes a dig at Bollywood's obsession with big stars

Anurag Kashyap is a well-known name in the Bollywood industry. He has directed many great films and has also shown his talent in acting. Anurag Kashyap is in the news these days for his new film Maharaja. Maharaj is a South film starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The film has received a good response from film critics as well as the audience. Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap took a dig at Bollywood and also praised the Malayalam film industry.

Anurag Kashyap targeted Bollywood

In fact, Anurag Kashyap in his recent conversation took a dig at Bollywood and praised the Malayalam film industry, saying, "In Malayalam cinema, they are not afraid to take risks, such as casting influential people in lead roles, as seen in Aavesh. In Bollywood, they fill these roles with big stars, focusing on star power rather than telling the actual story." 

Anurag Kashyap praises Malayalam films

Anurag Kashyap, while praising South cinema, especially Malayalam films in comparison to Hindi films, said, "I watch more Malayalam films than Hindi films these days because they excite me a lot more. Here in the Malayalam film industry, people tell original stories that are unique to each person. The filmmakers are satisfying themselves rather than the market. A film like 'Brahmayugam' would never be made in black and white in any other industry. This shows that they are making the films they really want to make."

The producer-actor had made this allegation on Bollywood

Not only this, in another interview, the film producer-actor accused Bollywood of wasting money. He said, "A lot of the money that is spent does not go into making the film. This money is spent on decorations and crew."

Because of this Anurag Kashyap had to go to jail

Let us tell you that Anurag Kashyap recalled an incident during the conversation when he spent a night in jail. Talking about this, he said, "Yes, I have gone to jail. I slapped the wrong person. Someone you should not hit. I was in jail for a night. The person who put me in lock-up is the same person who changed my life completely. He was the one who got me out." Anurag said that the person who forced him to spend a night in jail was impressed by the fact that Anurag stood up for the right thing.

Anurag Kashyap's work front 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anurag Kashyap last worked in Maharaja. 'Maharaja' was released in theaters on June 14. He also worked in the series Bad Cop starring Gulshan Devaiah. He is currently busy with a Tamil language film titled One to One. The film also stars Neetu Chandra and Sundar C in lead roles.
