Arjun Kapoor Addresses Trolls on His Surname and Film Choices

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor made a comeback in 2024 with Rohit Shetty's film Singham Again. The actor played the negative role of Danger Lanka, which was well received by his fans. However, the actor has always faced criticism since his debut film Ishaqzaade (2012) with Parineeti Chopra. Recently Arjun Kapoor revealed how people used to judge him because of his surname and wanted to see him fail.

In fact, Arjun Kapoor revealed in his conversation that some people wanted to see him fail. The actor, who did a great job in Singham Again, also said that many reactions were based on his surname and personal life. Talking about this, the actor said, "The perception was that I did not like to work, I did not care about my work, I was not interested in improving and I was not worthy of being an actor. This feeling was further aggravated by the physical struggles I faced during a crucial phase of my career, which stemmed from health problems, which I talked about recently. I understood how this story made it easier for people to aim arrows at me".

During the conversation, Arjun Kapoor expressed his gratitude for working in Singham Again with big names like Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and said, "I was very happy when Rohit sir told me that people are now talking about me and recognizing my ownership towards the film. It was a great moment because for a long time, people wanted me to fail. By people I mean those who are a bit critical, clickbaity and prone to trolling. They saw me as an easy target".

Arjun Kapoor revealed that he was suffering from mild depression

Not only this, earlier Arjun Kapoor revealed that he was suffering from mild depression. He said that when someone goes through mental health problems or goes through difficult circumstances, he needs to understand why such a situation happens to him. Arjun revealed that he had tried his best to understand why his mental health is not well. The actor said, "As a person who never really had these symptoms. I was confused. I suddenly started developing tendencies like overthinking and lack of motivation. I was not enjoying regular things, like watching a movie at night. I did not isolate myself - I reached out. I spoke to friends, family members and a therapist. I would like to say that no one should ever be alone".
