Set in Varanasi, Bhool Chuk Maaf revolves around Ranjan Tiwari (Rajkummar Rao) and Titli Mishra (Vamika Gabbi), two young lovers who plan to elope. But their dreams are shattered when the police catch them doing so. Titli's father, not happy with Ranjan's unemployment, agrees to the marriage on one condition: Ranjan must get a government job within two months. In desperation, Ranjan approaches a shady fixer, Bhagwan (Sanjay Mishra), who promises to get him a job in exchange for six lakh rupees. Titli raises some money by pawning her mother's necklace. When he finally gets a job, wedding preparations begin in full swing, but Ranjan finds himself trapped in a strange time loop, reliving the day before the wedding over and over again. Where every day is the day of the haldi ceremony. He lives the same day over and over again, and each repetition becomes a journey of forgiveness and growth.
