Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the names of its party candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The surprising thing among the names announced by the party in the first list is that it contains the names of four stars of the Bhojpuri film industry. The wave of Bhojpuri films that has been going on in the last few years has given four 'superstars' to this linguistic cinema industry, these are - Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua, and Pawan Singh. The interesting thing is that the BJP immediately declared these four superstars as its candidates in this election race. Immediately after the announcement of their names, these four stars said only one thing "If Modi ji is there, our victory is certain!"

Of these four Bhojpuri stars, three (Manoj, Ravi, Nirahua) are already Lok Sabha members (MPs). This time in the 2024 elections, the party has announced to field of Pawan Singh from Asansol in Bengal, a seat with a strong claim, where he is likely to face competition from film star Shatrughan Sinha. There is an uproar over Pawan Singh on social media. There was an uproar and within 8 hours he had to say that he was not contesting the elections. Let us see how the players of these linguistic films have fared in these electoral areas, let's take a look at their track record –

Manoj Tiwari (Delhi North East)

There is a BJP candidate on whom the party has gambled for the third time. Manoj was a folk singer turned actor. His courage increased so much that he contested from Gorakhpur in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Mulayam Singh Yadav's party. In front was Yogi Adityanath of Bharatiya Janata Party. Yogi gave such a crushing blow that he not only lost the elections but later also surrendered to the BJP. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP made this singer-actor contest from Delhi to get the votes of Biharis and North Indians settled in Delhi. In the Modi wave, Manoj Tiwari emerged victorious by defeating the Aam Aadmi Party candidate. He got a good amount of votes. He was also made the President of BJP Delhi (2016 to 2020). He was again in the fray in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and defeated the Congress Party's Shila Dixit. The party has made him its candidate from the Delhi North East seat for the third time in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Ravi Kishan (Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh)

has once again been fielded by BJP. During the days of Manoj Tiwari's stardom, Ravi Kishan also emerged as the second big star of Bhojpuri cinema. However, Ravi Kishan was already active in films. He has also done many Hindi and South films. Ravi first contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh) as a Congress Party candidate and lost. Later he joined BJP. Bharatiya Janata Party made him contest the 2019 elections from Gorakhpur, which was the Lok Sabha seat under the influence of Yogi Baba, Ravi won the election. Now for the second time, he is again in the same electoral field by BJP where Baba's influence has further increased and is in the strong support of Ravi Kishan.

Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahu

Nirahua, who became a hero on the screen of Bhojpuri films with Birha Gawaiya, is also a first-time election loser like Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan. But, he has been in BJP since the beginning. The party had fielded him against Akhilesh Yadav (former Chief Minister, SP President) in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and Nirahua had to face a crushing defeat from Akhilesh Yadav. Later, Nirahua won with a good lead by defeating SP's Dharmendra Yadav in the by-election. Now for the second time, once again BJP has made him a candidate for the Azamgarh seat.

Pawan Singh (Asansol)

Asansol Lok Sabha seat of Bengal is considered to be an equal contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress. In 2019, film singer Babul Supriyo won the election from here as a BJP candidate. Babul also became a minister in the central government. Then due to his dissatisfaction with the party, Babul left BJP and joined Trinamool Congress. Nowadays he is a state minister in Mamata Banerjee's party. In the by-election from the Asansol seat vacated by Babul Supriyo, Mamata Banerjee made actor Shatrughan Sinha contest on the Trinamool Party ticket and Shatrughan Sinha defeated BJP candidate Agni Mitra Paul by a huge margin. It is worth noting that Shatrughan Sinha was earlier in BJP, then due to disrespect, he joined Congress and after losing the elections in Bihar to BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, he went to Mamata Banerjee. Nowadays he is an MP from Asansol. Now in the 2024 elections, BJP has given the ticket to Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh from this seat. That is, in Asansol, one filmmaker (Shatrughan Sinha) will fight with another filmmaker (Pawan Singh). Pawan Singh is new in the election field but he is a popular Bhojpuri singer and star actor. His father used to work in Asansol and after the declaration of his name, Pawan Singh also said that he was also born in Kolkata. After hearing the news of Pawan Singh's candidature, senior actor and diplomat Shatrughan Sinha also wished Pawan Singh well.

But, Pawan Singh, who was seen expressing happiness over the announcement of his name on Saturday night and thanking top BJP leaders, surprised everyone by saying the next morning on Sunday that he would not contest the elections due to personal reasons. The story of the candidates contesting in Asansol is yet to be told.
