In fact, according to a Mid-Day report, the Mumbai Dabbawala Association has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis explaining how Chhava depicts the heroic journey of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Mumbai Dabbawala Association President Subhash Talekar said, "Our ancestors were warriors in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's army and fought with him on the battlefield. For us, both Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj are revered figures". Along with this, the Dabbawala Association mentioned that it is important to declare the film tax-free in the state so that more and more people can watch it and understand the life and sacrifice of the Maratha king. It mentioned that the film should also be declared tax-free as a tribute to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his legacy.

According to the report of Saccanilk, the film Chhava has collected Rs 24 crore on the first Monday, which has become the highest collection film on the first Monday of this year. This film had an opening of 31 crores, while on Sunday it collected 48.5 crores. Overall, this film has collected Rs 140.50 crores. In the name of gross collection across the country, this film has earned Rs 168.60 crores. Talking about the worldwide collection, the film has collected around Rs 195.60 crores.

'Chhava' is a historical drama that revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film also shows the war between Sambhaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb. In the film, Vicky Kaushal is playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the founder of the Maratha Empire. At the same time, Rashmika Mandanna is seen in the role of Yesubai Rani.
