Suhani Bhatnagar, who played the role of Aamir Khan's on-screen daughter in the film 'Dangal', died on Saturday morning at the age of 19.

Passed away due to a rare disease

'Dangal' actress Suhani Bhatnagar, who played young Babita Phogat, passed away at the age of 19 due to complications of dermatomyositis. This rare disease, which causes skin rashes and muscle weakness, took her life within ten days of diagnosis.

She was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on 7 February and passed away on 16 February due to medical complications. Symptoms had begun to appear two months earlier, but the diagnosis was confirmed only ten days before her death.

Aamir Khan's production expressed condolences

Aamir Khan's production house also expressed grief over Bhatnagar's demise. On their official Twitter (X) handle, they shared which reads, “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family 🙏🏽 such a talented young girl, and such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani. Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts ️ May you rest in peace 🙏🏽."

Wanted to work in industry after finishing studies

Suhani Bhatnagar was selected among 25,000 children to play the role of young Babita Phogat. Suhani had taken a break from acting to complete her studies. She was pursuing a course in Mass Communication and Journalism and was in her second year. She wanted to work in the film industry after completing her studies.
