There were rumors that it would hit theatres during the Holi weekend in March. However, with Holi just a few weeks away, the film's promotional activities have not started yet.

According to reports, the CBFC has concerns over some scenes and dialogues dealing with caste issues in Dhadak 2. The board members liked the film, but they are unsure about what rating to give it and whether any scenes need to be cut. A source said that the filmmakers are waiting for the film to get certification from the CBFC before starting its promotion. If the film gets the approval, it will release on March 14 as scheduled. If this does not happen, the release may be postponed.
