Announcing their new release, the makers said the film will release on March 20, 2026. Toxic was originally scheduled to release in December 2025. Dhurandhar's story (Dhurandhar Plot)
The film's story is inspired by the 1999 IC-814 plane hijacking and the 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament. The story begins with Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan), the head of an Indian intelligence agency, who plans to dismantle a terrorist and underworld network operating in Pakistan. To do this, he needs a young man with no identity and who is involved in a crime. His search leads him to Hamza (Ranveer Singh), a 20-year-old man from Punjab who is in prison. Hamza receives special training and is sent to Pakistan for the mission. In Pakistan, Hamza encounters the dangerous underworld of Lyari, where he must deal with dangerous figures like gangster Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) and Karachi's Superintendent of Police, Chaudhry Aslam (Sanjay Dutt).
