Dia Mirza On Backlash For Supporting Fawad Khan: Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's Bollywood comeback film 'Abir Gulaal' has got into trouble after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. There are demands on social media to ban Pakistani actors. Amidst the demands for a ban, Dia Mirza's statement supporting Fawad Khan created a stir. Now Dia Mirza has reacted to the criticism of her support for Fawad Khan's Bollywood comeback.
Diya Mirza presented clarification
Let us tell you that Dia Mirza wrote a note on Instagram and clarified that her statement in support of Fawad Khan was given much before the terrorist attack. She wrote, "To members of the media, stop misrepresenting facts. I gave an interview for one of my films on April 10, in which I gave a quote, which was much before this horrific terrorist attack. Stop broadcasting my quotes now, weeks later and out of context. This is unethical and extremely insulting".
Diya Mirza said this
Dia Mirza had expressed her support for Fawad Khan's return to Bollywood in an interview. She said, "This is a political question. If there are circumstances to ban artists, then it is completely justified. I have always believed that art has always been and should be a medium of peace and harmony. We should never allow art and sports to be entangled or mixed with hate. It is a good thing that Fawad is back in the film, you know we will see it soon. I hope this will give many more such opportunities for other collaborations".
Fawad Khan's film 'Abir Gulaal' banned
Let us tell you that on April 22, a brutal terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam shook the whole country. 26 civilians were killed and many others were injured in this attack. Soon after, Fawad Khan's film 'Abir Gulaal' faced severe criticism, with many demanding a ban on the release of the film. On Wednesday, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) demanded a ban on the release of the film. In a statement after the Pahalgam attack, FWICE announced "complete non-cooperation with all Pakistani artistes, singers and technicians of the Indian film and entertainment industry", and also said that "all necessary steps will be taken to ensure that Abir Gulaal is not released in India".
Dia Mirza expressed grief over the Pahalgam terrorist attack
Dia Mirza expressed grief over the Pahalgam terror attack and wrote, "Our hearts are heavy with grief. The pain we share must strengthen our collective resolve. To stand united, speak loudly for peace, and take action against hate in all its forms. The perpetrators of this brutal, senseless violence must be held accountable. Justice must prevail. Let us come together—as one humanity—and say, enough is enough. We will not let hate divide us. We will not be silent".
