Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Makes History: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's famous romantic drama film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) is going to create history once again. In fact, on October 20, 2025, a bronze statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol will be unveiled at Leicester Square in London, marking the 30th anniversary of the film. This is the first time that an Indian film has been honored with a statue at this prestigious place.

Heart of London Business Alliance announced

The Heart of London Business Alliance today announced that a new statue is joining the exciting 'Scenes in the Square' movie trail located in London's Leicester Square, and the honour goes to Yash Raj Films' landmark blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. This will be the first Indian film statue to be installed in Leicester Square, London! The announcement will also mark the start of celebrations of 30 years of DDLJ, a timeless and multi-award winning romantic comedy that also marked the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra.

DDLJ's statue will be installed along with these iconic characters

DDLJ stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol will now join international cinema legends in 'Scenes in the Square', which features ten other film icons from the last 100 years. The DDLJ statue will now stand alongside iconic characters such as Harry Potter, Laurel and Hardy, Bugs Bunny, Gene Kelly (Singing in the Rain), Mary Poppins, Mr Bean, Paddington and DC superheroes Batman and Wonder Woman.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is also known as DDLJ. The film is directed by producer and director Aditya Chopra. Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Amrish Puri were in the lead cast of the film. The film was first released on 19 October 1995 and was released all over India on 20 October 1995.
