Ekta Kapoor slams Anurag Kashyap: Anurag Kashyap is a well-known name in the Bollywood industry. The director never shies away from making bold statements. Recently, Anurag Kashyap made headlines when he accused Netflix India of being 'hypocritical' when it comes to approving content. He said that a show like Adolescence would never be made here. Now Ekta Kapoor has taken a dig at this and wondered why Indian content struggles to match international standards. She questioned whether the issue is "ego, anger or just false allegations".
Ekta Kapoor gave a befitting reply to Anurag Kashyap
For your information, let us tell you that Ekta Kapoor also shared her thoughts on why quality content struggles in India. She suggested that perhaps not just producers, but the audience also plays a role in shaping the kind of content that is created. Sharing a story on Instagram, Ekta wrote, "When Indian producers say that Indian content is not at par with internationally acclaimed TV series and films, I wonder if it is arrogance, anger or just false accusations".
Ekta Kapoor expressed disappointment
Ekta further added, "When Superboys of Malegaon and my dear friend @hansalmehta's The Buckingham Murders don't work in theatres, can we blame the real culprits- the audience? And since it's not fun to blame people in such abstract terms (we can't bring them down on social media, so no fun), let's just say that a large part of India is in its development phase when it comes to content consumption! You could say it's in its adolescence."
Ekta Kapoor urged the creators
Encouraging Indian creators to take matters into their own hands, Ekta urged them to invest their money in the kind of content they want to create, instead of waiting for corporate studios and streaming platforms to support them. On Instagram Story, she wrote, “Creators, I urge you to fight the system. These money hungry corporate studios and apps only think about money (including me) and numbers!!!! Movie-making, content creation is not a business; it is an art, and I want to support the art. So, I urge creators to invest their money... problem solved!!!!”
Anurag Kashyap had written this
For your information, let us tell you that Anurag Kashyap shared a post on Instagram in which he wrote, "Netflix India is a completely opposite show. If they were offered this, they would probably have rejected it or turned it into a 90-minute film".
