Popular Malayalam actor Meghanathan has passed away at the age of 60. The actor died due to a lung-related disease. The actor's death has come as a big shock to the industry.

Let us tell you that Malayalam actor Meghanathan was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode, where he breathed his last. The actor's last rites will be performed at his residence in Shoranur on Thursday.

Film career of Malayalam actor Meghanathan

The actor made his acting debut with the 1983 Malayalam film Astram, which was the beginning of an illustrious career that spanned over three decades. Meghanathan carved a niche for himself by playing diverse roles, primarily as a villain, like his legendary father. Some of his most memorable performances include roles in Panchagni, Chamayam, Rajdhani, Bhoomigeetham, Chenkol, Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji, Prayikkara Pappan, Udayanapalakam, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu and Vasthavam. Apart from his successful film career, Meghanathan was a familiar face on television, having starred in popular serials such as Streethvam, Meghasandesham, Kathayiriyathe, Snehanjali and Chitta. His most recent film appearance was in Samadhan Pusthakam, released earlier this year.
