Farah Khan Holi Controversy: Bollywood filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, who recently had an FIR (First Information Report) filed against her by Hindustani Bhau for hurting religious sentiments, gave an interview to the media.  During this interview, Hindustani Bhau made it clear that he will not tolerate anyone insulting Sanatan Dharma, regardless of who they are. He also mentioned his previous case against Ekta Kapoor. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.

This matter has also come up in the media. Farah Khan, in a reality show, said that Holi is a "chhapri" (low-class) festival. Is Holi really a “chhapri” festival? It’s not like she has never worked in films, doesn’t know about the world, or has no idea about reality shows or Sanatan Dharma. Our Prime Minister Modi, all the saints, and 100 crore people of India celebrate Holi, and yet she calls it "chhapri." She is insulting Sanatan Dharma. But this is not a new thing for Bollywood. Bollywood has always insulted our Sanatan Dharma and our gods and goddesses. Every time we watch their films, they have depicted our Hindu religion in a derogatory manner, and no one says anything because they have power, money, and influence.

But now, they’re facing "Hindustani Bhau," who will give them an answer. I will respond to her both legally and in my own way. I have already filed a complaint at Khar Police Station, and I want her to be punished for this.

Which Legal Sections Apply for Hurting Religious Sentiments?

According to the law, if sentiments are hurt, Sections 196, 299, 302, and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) may be applicable. As per the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Lalita Kumari case, if the offense is cognizable, the police must file an FIR. We have demanded the filing of an FIR at Khar Police Station because the evidence is clear. The language used against the community in the show Celebrity Masterchef is wrong and creates a disturbing atmosphere in the country. We want action on this, and if the police investigation doesn’t show progress, we will approach the Bombay High Court.

Earlier, cases were filed under the IPC, but with the introduction of the BNS (Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha) law, there have been some changes, and now the punishment is more severe. Under the BNS law, Sections 196, 299, and 353 are applicable. Based on these, we have filed an FIR against Farah Khan.

Do You Think This is a Political Stunt?

All reality shows are scripted, and this was done deliberately. After shooting, they didn’t even cut the footage. They know that no one will say anything about insulting Hindu gods and goddesses. That's why such disrespectful statements were made. They create videos to hurt our Hindu religion. Many people have done this before, and I have made their situation worse. Anyone who insults our country, Hindu religion, or any religion, I will stand against them. People trust you when they watch your films, and yet you make such comments. If I don't get justice, I will knock on the court’s door, just like I did in Ekta Kapoor’s case.

Do You Think Political Pressure Will Be Put On You? Will Hindustani Bhau Be Suppressed?

In Ekta Kapoor’s case, they also tried to silence my voice. A leader sent me money, but five years ago, I went to court, and truth prevailed. The court ordered an investigation against Ekta Kapoor. Now, in Farah Khan’s case, after going to the police station, I am receiving calls from higher authorities, but I am not scared. I cannot betray my supporters, and I will take action against anyone who has done wrong.

If Farah Khan Apologizes, Will You Forgive Her?

If Farah Khan comes on TV or social media and apologizes to our Sanatan Dharma, our great saints, and rishis, then I will forgive her. If the whole of India forgives her, then I will too.

On February 20th, during an episode of Celebrity Masterchef, Farah Khan made an objectionable comment about the Hindu festival of Holi, calling it " Saare chhapri ladkon ka pasandeeda tyohar Holi hi hota hai."  This sparked outrage, leading Hindustani Bhau to file an FIR against her for her remarks, accusing her of insulting Hindu culture and traditions.
