Genelia D’Souza Opens Up on Bollywood Rejection After Marriage, Shares Her Pain

Genelia D'Souza On Sitaare Zameen Per: Bollywood actor Ritesh Deshmukh's wife and actress Genelia D'Souza will soon be seen in the upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Per'. In this film, she will play the role of Aamir Khan's wife. Recently, during an interview, Genelia D'Souza expressed her pain about being sidelined from Bollywood after marriage. During this, she also said that she had auditioned three times for Aamir Khan's film.

Genelia D'Souza shares her thoughts on not getting work in Bollywood

Actually, during an interview, Genelia D'Souza expressed her pain on being sidelined by Bollywood after marriage. The actress said, "When people came to know that I am doing 'Sitare Zameen Par', everyone said, 'Oh my God! How lucky you are! You are doing Aamir Khan's film!' I said, of course, it is the greatness of Aamir sir that he saw something in me. Of course, he auditioned me. But you can do the same, right? You can give me any role too". 

Our mindset should also change- Genelia D'Souza

Continuing her point, Genelia D'Souza further said, "But you go by the norms. Maybe you think I am married, so I don't need this role. I think filmmaking has changed, and so should our mindset. It is very important that if you want a character of a certain age, you should cast someone of the same age. When we cast an actor who is much younger than the character I played, they don't understand the nuances of that character. Choosing the right role is important. And I hope everyone gets the opportunity."

'Sitaare Zameen Par' will be released on 20 June

Along with Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh will also be seen in the lead role in 'Sitar Zameen Par'. The film is directed by R.S. Prasanna, who also directed Shubh Mangal Savdhan. The film also features debutants Arush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Sanvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar. He also produced and directed the biopic On a Quest of Swami Chinmayanand Saraswati, the teacher who inspired the formation of Chinmaya Mission. The film's lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music is given by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film 'Sitar Zameen Par' will be released in theaters on June 20. The film 'Sitar Zameen Par' is a sequel to Tare Zameen Par released in the year 2007.
