Hrithik and Deepika's film 'Fighter' is full of action

'Fighter' is an action film directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, and is the first film in a planned aerial action franchise. The film is based on Air Force, hence it is being released in theaters on 25th January, a day before Republic Day.

Deepika's back-to-back hit

You have given back-to-back hit films like 'Jawaan' and 'Pathan' last year, so was there any pressure regarding 'Fighter'?

Deepika- No, it is not like that. When we were shooting for 'Fighter', these films had not even been released. I don't think that we make any film according to its result. We make any film thinking about its story and the impact it will have on people, the rest happens automatically. Last year was very good, and we want this year to be good too. We have made this film with a lot of love and honesty.

There have been a lot of ups and downs in your career, so how do you look at your journey, and have you ever thought of using a body double in your films?

Hrithik- When I read the script of the film Fighter, I was very inspired. Sid came to me with this film seven years ago, and it was then that I saw myself in this film. I love doing these kind of films. My character in this film is very different from the characters in other films I have done. All the actors are just colors in this film, its director is its painter and he has made this painting in the form of this film in which he used us as colors.

You are playing the character of a fighter in this film, so have you met any person in real life whom you felt was a fighter?

Anil- In real life, I am a fighter myself. I won the first battle when I got married, and I became a fighter as a husband. Then I had three children and I had to become a fighter again. Now that I have become a grandfather, I have become an ultimate fighter. I am still working so I am still a fighter.

Was there ever a phase in your life where you had to become a fighter?

Deepika- In 2014, when I became mentally ill and since then every day has been a battle. That time has changed a lot in my life and has changed a lot for me.

Hrithik- I believe that there is a fighter inside every human being, otherwise we would not have been where we are standing today. Every day we are fighting a new battle, so I believe that when you start enjoying this thing, then it becomes like a game for you.

Hrithik, music is in your blood, and recently you also went on a singing reality show, which you enjoyed a lot, so tell us about your favorite song.

Yes, music is in my blood. I feel that if I had not been successful as an actor, I would have done something in music. For me, music is life. I like the song “Mitti” from our film ‘Fighter’ very much.

Many directors in the industry work behind the scenes as well as on-screen, so will you be seen on screen in any film?

Siddharth- I would rather work behind the scenes. I am a student of cinema, right now I am learning how to work behind the camera. Neither am I fond of appearing on screen nor do have I had the talent. It is enough for me to do something good in my field. These are the veteran actors of the screen and let only them do the work of coming on screen.

According to you, what was your best moment and most difficult moment in making this film?

Siddharth- The best moment was when this picture was completed. Difficult moments happen every day on the sets. Every day some new problem will arise whose solution has to be found. It feels great when a picture is made, but going to the set every day is also a difficult task.

How is it different from your other action films?

Siddharth- This film has been made to be seen in 3D. When you watch it in 3D, you will feel as if you are sitting in the cockpit. You will feel like a movie rollercoaster.

According to you, how would you define patriotism?

Siddharth- We are all patriots. We all love our country. We are doing the film Fighter not just because it is a commercial picture but it is our way of showing our love for our country. We may not wear our patriotism on our sleeves but we keep it in our hearts. This film is a tribute to all the soldiers who wear their patriotism on their sleeves and keep it in their hearts. We have spent a lot of time with those soldiers and understood their lives.
