“Iconic Mumtaz-jee deserves highest civilian honour ”: says ‘celeb-fan’ Udit Narayan at HR’s GIEBA 2024 Awards event by Chaitanya Padukone

It was the iconic veteran yet evergreen dignified actress Mumtaz who emerged as the supreme star center-of-attraction and was mobbed by fans of all ages, This was at the glitter-glamour celebs-studded GIEBA Awards 2024 event held late evening on Saturday  The dignified ‘Apna Desh’ actress  Mumtaz-Askari-Madhvani was accompanied by her tall, smart, handsome star-actor-nephew Shaad Randhawa ( of ‘Aashiqui 2, ‘Ek Villain’ and ‘Ek Villain Returns’, etc fame)

Amidst sparkling lights glitz and glamour the "Global Iconic Entertainment and Business Awards" (GIEBA) was conducted at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium, NMIMS, Vile Parle. The dazzling affair, commencing at 6 PM on 6th January, brought together eminent luminaries from Space-scientists from ISRO,  business (like ‘diamond-king’  PadmaShree Savji-bhai Dhanji Dholakia), sports ( Arjuna awardee and Padma Shri awardee Deepa Malik), defence forces ( Capt Yogender Singh Yadav)  and entertainment etc for a star-studded celebration of excellence.

Besides ‘living legend’ Mumtaz, the turn-out of film and showbiz celebrities included renowned playback singer Padma Bhushan Udit Narayan, showman film director Anil Sharma ( of ‘Gadar 2 fame),  actor Upendra Limaye ( ‘gunmaster Freddy’ of mega-hit movie  ‘Animal’ fame), celeb singer Hans Raj Hans, popular versatile star-actress Mona Singh, actress Sahila Chadha and famous duo-sister pop-singers Preeti-Pinky.

Under the guidance and leadership of Harsh Gupta (Founder and Director of H.R. Entertainment) and skillfully managed by Sumit Kumar Singh ( ‘Market Chanakya), the GIEBA Awards have evolved into a benchmark recognizing outstanding achievements. This year’s edition promised an unforgettable experience, paying tribute to exceptional individuals and organizations across diverse fields.

After getting her GIEBA-2024 Lifetime Achievement Award graceful actress Mumtaz, shared her sentiments on exiting the Hindi film industry, saying, “Though I left the film industry long ago, people still remember me and care for me so fondly  it’s a fantastic feeling.” She also heartily congratulated ISRO scientists for their commendable work on the Chandrayaan mission. The modest Mumtaz while on stage, reacted with, “ Compared to the extraordinary achievements of the ISRO Team towards Space Research and recent Chandrayaan-3 moon-landing and Aditya L-1 spacecraft,  my achievements are nothing, “ she said amidst loud applause. Later the invited audience was thrilled when Mumtaz responded to her chartbuster song ‘Chupp Gaye Saare Nazaare’ being played with her amazing facial expressions and hand gestures, the ‘Do Raaste’ actress, even as awardee  "fidaa-fan" Udit Narayan seemed fully fascinated on stage. So much so, Udit even sang a few lines extempore of her popular hit song from her movie 'Sachhaa Jhutha' and Mumtaz seemed touched by his sentiment.      

Padma Bhushan veteran celeb singer Udit Narayan, expressing pride as an Indian, declared, “Receiving this award in the presence of genius Indian scientists, patriotic army personnel, and Bollywood veteran iconic actress Mumtaz-ji makes me immensely proud. Considering her  phenomenal contribution-- iconic Mumtaz-jee deserves even more than the highest civilian honor”, insisted Udit

In a heartfelt message, ISRO Chief Sreedhara Panicker Somanath conveyed his gratitude, stating, “I heartily congratulate my team for the success of Mission Chandrayaan-3. Thanks to the GIEBA Awards-2024  for honoring our efforts.”

Event Director Harsh Gupta, Founder of HR Entertainment, expressed joy, saying, “This is a momentous occasion for me and my team. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this event.”

 

The ‘Khilona’ movie Filmfare award-winning actress Mumtaz recipient of the GIEBA Lifetime Achievement Award, added, “This is a moment I will cherish forever. I thank all the team members of GIEBA Awards from the bottom of my heart,”  reacted the kind-hearted actress.  It was a memorable sentimental experience for me as a senior-film-journalist-author to gift my authored book R D Burmania to the dignified Mumtaz and later have a  brief conversation with her while being seated next to her in the auditorium
