In fact, during his recent interaction, Imtiaz Ali recalled, “There have been three times in my entire life when I have sent people (crew members) back from different places, different sets. I am glad that it has happened only three times. I remember once it happened on the sets of Highway. We were shooting on a rural highway with Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt and there was no proper vanity van in 2013. Alia had to change, go to different, unusual places. Imtiaz said, "Once I had to send a guy back from the set when he was trying to be around her during that time. So yes, it happened to me three times as a filmmaker, but not anymore. Times have changed, a lot has changed. Actresses are really safe on the sets. It is not like that now."

Continuing his point, Imtiaz Ali further said, "The film industry in Bombay is remarkable for the way it treats women and I, as a man, have noticed this. If there are 200 people working in a unit, it is a very safe place for women"

"Nobody has ever looked at Kareena in a wrong way" - Imtiaz Ali

Imtiaz Ali further shared, "For example, there was a shot in When We Met where the cameraman said I need lights in the shot at the last minute. Kareena was ready for the shot and was on the upper berth in the railway compartment. In the scene, she had to mumble something in her sleep and we needed extra lights on the berth. I asked her to come down till the crew members finish setting up the lights. She said I will lie there and they can set up the lights. Three men went up and stood on the lower berth and set up the lights where she was lying. I asked them, 'Are you sure and comfortable?' They did not understand what my problem was. They said, 'Who will get down now and then get on!' And that was because she felt very safe with those three men to set up the lights. No one looked at her in a wrong way."
