Jaat Controversy: FIR Filed Against Sunny Deol & Randeep Hooda Over Allegations

Jaat Controversy: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda starrer ' Jaat' has been surrounded by controversies since its release on April 10. The film is accused of insulting Jesus Christ and Christian practices. Now, an FIR has been registered against the actors and producers of the film Jaat for hurting religious sentiments. In a complaint lodged with the Jalandhar Police, it has been claimed that a scene in the film has hurt the Christian community.

FIR Registered in Jalandhar Under Section 299 of BNS

For your information, let us tell you that on Thursday night, 17 April 2025, the police in Jalandhar, Punjab registered an FIR at Sadar Police Station under Section 299 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). This section deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to hurt religious feelings by insulting religion or its beliefs. According to media reports, the police initially sought two days to evaluate the complaint. After deliberation, the FIR was registered and the investigation is currently underway.
