"Jaspinder Narula has achieved with her own distinct vocal identity," appreciated iconic guest Javed Akhtar at Narula's 'Padma Shri' honour grand celebration by Chaitanya Padukone

"Honour toh honaa hi thaa-- because "I am the Best"!  Renowned Sufi and Bollywood playback singer and trained classical singer Dr. Jaspinder Narula has now been honored by the Indian Government with the prestigious civilian award Padma Shri, in recognition of her over three decades of remarkable vocal contribution to classical music and Bollywood film music. Known for her powerful, resonant peppy yet soulful vocals in Bollywood evergreen hit-banger songs like Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Taare Hain Baarati, Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare, 'I Am The Best' , Tera Rang Balle Bale, Bumbaroo, Bunty aur Babli, and many more  Dr. Jaspinder  expressed immense joy upon receiving the Government accolade, stating, "I am feeling ten feet tall today."  At the celebration event held at Hotel Orchid banquet hall, Jaspinder was accompanied by her dynamic supportive husband Pramod Kaul (eminent music-producer and media-consultant).

To commemorate this commendable achievement, a grand celebration unfolded, bringing together luminaries from the music and film industries. The evening saw the presence of eminent iconic lyricist-writer Javed -saab Akhtar, composer Anu Malik, singer Suresh Wadkar with wife Padma Wadkar, popular star-actor Mukesh Rishi, noted film writer-director Rumi Jaffery who extended their heartfelt congratulations. Also attending were Hon'ble. Minister of Transport Pratap Sarnaik, bureaucrat dignitary (IAS Officer) Manu Kumar Srivastava, singer Sanjay Tondon -- Founder-CEO of  ISAMRA,  ad-lib folk-singer Janak Rani Sharma ( mother of TV super-star comedian Kapil Sharma)  Anusha Srinivasan Iyer,  singers Shibani Kashyap,  Chandan Dass, Ghanshyam Vaswani, versatile singer Alisha A. Khan, classical singer Ghulam Haider Khan, composer-singer Raju Singh with wife Sherley,  impresario Saurabh Daftary, corporate and political activist-singer Mukesh Tyagi, actor-singer-composer Ruhan Kapoor with wife Neerja Kapoor among other dignitaries, and also her classmates from school and her friends. All of them paid sentimental tributes on stage, to Narula’s illustrious career and her dedication, while many ( like Anu Malik) recalled fond flashback memories

While addressing the elite music gathering of guests Padma Bhushan writer-lyricist-poet Javed Akhtar-saab highly appreciated Jaspinder Narula for being an " achiever-singer with her own distinct vocal identity, and not by imitating some other senior famous singer's voice. And I appreciate her, for having successfully overcome odd adverse obstacles ( like the way unstoppable rivers finding their way to merge with the ocean) to achieve success on her own vocal-talent merit," said the articulate, erudite Javed-saab..

During the memorable event co-hosted by Manjari & Ashok Kacker, the modest Dr. Jaspinder dedicated her award to her 'late' Parents, expressing gratitude for their pivotal role in shaping her musical journey. Reflecting on her upbringing in East Delhi, she fondly remembered her father, Sardar Kesar Singh Narula, a revered figure in Punjabi folk music, as her first mentor. "Music practice was a constant in our family house, and the musical waves influenced me deeply," she reminisced.

The star-studded late evening party sparkled with the presence of the music-biz glitterati featuring soulful melodies, moving speeches, and an outpouring of heart-felt admiration from her peers and admirers. The music-industry expressed their solidarity celebrating the brilliant artistry, dedication, resilience and unparalleled talent of Dr. Jaspinder Narula.. Some music celebs, who are close friends of Jaspinder. like Anup Jalota and Sonu Nigam, who unfortunately, were out of town, and could not attend, sent their video-recording and messages of heart-felt appreciating compliments.
