The cricketer posted on Instagram and wrote, "It has been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket. Honestly, I never imagined what journey this format would take me on. It tested me, shaped me and taught me lessons that I will carry with me for a lifetime. Playing in white is a very personal experience. Quiet hard work, long days, small moments that no one sees but which stay with you forever. As I step away from this format, it is not easy - but it feels right. I have given it my all and it has given me more than I expected. I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude. For the game, for the people with whom I shared the field and for every single person who saw me during this time. I will always look back at my Test career with a smile. #269, Signing off.

Virat Kohli's Test Cricket Career

In his Test career, Virat Kohli made 123 appearances in whites, scoring 9,230 runs in 210 innings with 30 centuries and 31 fifties at an average of 46.85 with a best score of 254. He is India's fourth-highest run-scorer in the Test format after Sachin Tendulkar (15,921 runs), Rahul Dravid (13,265 runs) and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122 runs). Virat's last Test match was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour of Australia in November-January, where he scored just 190 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.75, with his century in Perth being the most special.
