The event was attended by stars Surya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani. In "Kanguva," Surya plays the lead role, while Disha Patani features as the lead actress. Bobby Deol appears as the villain 'Udhiran,' who plays a crucial role in the story. Bobby Deol Excited for Surya During the event, Bobby Deol shared that when the film was presented to him, he was informed that the popular actor Surya was part of the cast. He felt that having Surya in the film would ensure its quality. Bobby remarked, “Every film of Surya has something special about it, with unique storytelling and production.” He admitted that at that time, he was not aware of the film's director Shiva or the producer Gnanavel, which is why discussions didn't progress initially. Bobby Manifested His Role Bobby expressed his determination to be a part of this film after hearing its story. He mentioned, "I knew I had to do this film. I told myself that they would come back to me eventually." After some time, the team returned, and he signed on. Bobby described the filming experience, saying, “Kanguva will make you feel the heat.” He also shared that he thoroughly enjoyed working on this project. The team put in a lot of hard work, filming in various challenging conditions, including water and mud, despite bad weather at times. Praise for Surya Bobby praised Surya, stating that he took on this film primarily because of him. He enjoyed Surya’s company and even appreciated his coffee. “We often talked about our families,” Bobby added. Surya's Reflections: Surya mentioned that he hasn’t done a film like this in his 27-year career. Discussing working alongside Bobby Deol, he said, "When I feel scared, I dive deep into that feeling. Standing in front of Bobby and challenging him wasn’t easy. I had to muster all my courage and confidence." The One and Only Superstar When Surya was referred to as a superstar during the event, he quickly clarified that this title belonged solely to Rajinikanth. "I am not a superstar; Rajini sir is. There can only be one superstar, and that is him." Masala Film Disha described "Kanguva" as a masala film and shared that she had a great time making it. She praised Director Shiva for making her feel comfortable throughout the process. Budget and Scale of the Film "Kanguva" is considered one of the biggest and most expensive films of the year, with a budget exceeding 350 crore rupees. It surpasses other major films like 'Pushpa' and 'Singham.' The movie was shot in seven different countries across various continents. One unique aspect of this film is its special look, which is inspired by the prehistoric period. To achieve this, the technical team included Hollywood experts for action and cinematography. The film features over 10,000 extras and includes a significant war sequence, leaving audiences eager to watch it. During the event, renowned Telugu and Tamil music director Devi Sri Prasad performed the song ‘Yolo’ from the film. "Kanguva" was initially slated to release on October 10 but was postponed due to the simultaneous release of Rajinikanth's film 'Vettaiyan.' It will now hit theaters on November 14, coinciding with Children’s Day. The film is produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, with a story crafted by Madhan Karki, Aadi Narayan, and Shiva.
