Kunal Kamra Apologizes: 

Comedian Kunal Kamra has filed a petition to quash the FIR registered against him by Mumbai Police. At the same time, ticketing platform BookMyShow has issued a statement on the controversy related to comedian Kunal Kamra, as he has been removed from their platform. Not only this, Kunal Kamra has written an open letter on this, to which BookMyShow has responded.

Let us tell you that BookMyShow issued a statement on Instagram, saying how they are a platform to 'facilitate the sale of tickets' and how they are a 'business with neutrality in compliance with the applicable laws of India'. BookMyShow wrote in its statement that, "BookMyShow is a platform to facilitate the sale of tickets and it conducts business with neutrality and in compliance with the applicable laws of India. The facts about our role have been misrepresented in the public domain. Our role is to provide a platform for ticket sales of live shows and it is the decision of the organizer or venue to list or remove their show. "

BookMyShow further wrote, "The content of each performance is entirely at the discretion of the artist or organiser (as the case may be) and does not represent our views. We work on mutually agreed terms with all venues and promoters to provide our ticketing service, as is the case with any business. We do not prevent any artist from selling their show on our website if they wish to do so. Our platform is about bringing people together through shared experiences, regardless of their beliefs. We are committed to providing the best possible service and experience for everyone".

Kunal Kamra made this appeal to BookMyShow

Kunal Kamra appealed to BookMyShow on X, writing, "Dear BookMyShow I still don't know if I have your platform or not. Below is my humble thought. I am not a fan of boycotting or lowering the ratings of any private business for the sake of the viewers. BookMyShow has every right to do what is best for their business." This came after the platform was accused of removing his show amid the controversy.

Along with this Kunal Kamra wrote, "Dear BookMyShow I understand that you need to maintain cordial relations with the state, and I know Mumbai is a major hub for live entertainment. Without the state's support, iconic shows like Coldplay and Guns N' Roses would not be possible. However, the issue is not whether you can remove me from the list or not. It is about your exclusive right to list our shows. By not allowing artists to list their shows through your website, you have effectively blocked me from reaching my performing audience from 2017 to 2025".
