According to Mumbai Police, Kunal Kamra has been summoned to record his statement on April 5. Kamra has been booked at Khar Police Station under Sections 353 (statements causing public mischief) and 356 (2) (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code. These complaints from various Shiv Sena workers were transferred to Khar from various police stations.

The comedian is on interim anticipatory bail till April 7

Mumbai Police officials said, "Mumbai Police has issued a third notice to Kunal Kamra to appear and record his statement on 5 April. Mumbai Police had called Kunal Kamra twice earlier for questioning, but he did not appear". Police officials visited Kamra's house in Mumbai on Monday, 31 March 2025, to determine whether he would appear before them. Kunal Kamra is on interim anticipatory bail until 7 April by the Madras High Court, allowing him to approach courts in Maharashtra.
