Comedian Kunal Kamra called Shinde a "traitor" and a "turncoat". Kamra said that he is a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu, and therefore the Madras High Court has jurisdiction. According to a report by Live Law, the matter was urgently mentioned before Justice Sundar Mohan today on March 28. Mentioning the matter, Kamra's lawyer also told the court that the comedian has been receiving death threats since uploading the show on his YouTube channel. According to a report quoting sources, the comedian has received more than 500 threat calls. Shiv Sena's Sanjay Nirupam threatened to physically assault Kunal Kamra, while MP Naresh Mhaske warned that the comedian would be "forced to flee India", saying that party workers would chase him wherever he goes.

In fact, on Sunday, a video of Kamra surfaced in which he is singing a song mocking Deputy CM Shinde. This angered the workers of the Eknath Shinde faction. Referring to the split factions of the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Kunal Kamra said that "one man" started this trend and used the word 'gaddar' (traitor) to describe that person. After Kamra's sarcasm on Shinde went viral, supporters of the Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction vandalized Habitat, the place where Kamra allegedly recorded his show in January. Twelve persons were arrested for the attack but were later granted bail.
