Madhura Pandit, wife of Pandit Jasraj and daughter of V Shantaram passed away

Madhura Pandit Jasraj, wife of late Pandit Jasraj and daughter of famous film personality V. Shantaram, has passed away at the age of 86. Writer-filmmaker Madhura Pandit Jasraj passed away today 25 September due to age-related illnesses. This news was confirmed by her daughter Durga Jasraj, who said that her mother Madhura was unwell for some time and breathed her last at her Mumbai residence.

Durga Jasraj expressed grief over the death of her mother

Let us tell you that the late Pandit Jasraj and Madhura Pandit Jasraj have two children, music director Sharang Dev Pandit and TV personality Durga Jasraj. Expressing grief over the demise of her mother, Durga Jasraj said, "Her contribution in documenting and restoring the legacy of her father Dr. V. Shantaram and my father Pandit Jasraj ji has been immense".

Official statement from Pandit Jasraj's family

Pandit Jasraj family spokesperson also shared the news and gave an official statement about the last rites of the deceased. The spokesperson said, "Madhura Pandit Jasraj (86), wife of late Pandit Jasraj and mother of Durga Jasraj and Sharing Dev, passed away in the early hours of September 25 at home due to age-related illness." Further, the statement informed that "Madhura's body will leave her home today afternoon and will be cremated at Oshiwara crematorium on Wednesday, September 25 between 4:00 and 4:30 pm".

Career of Madhura Pandit Jasraj

Madhura, who is active as a writer, filmmaker, and choreographer, made a documentary named 'Sangit Martand Pandit Jasraj' in 2009 as a tribute to her husband. Apart from this, she also wrote the biography of her father V. Shantaram, and many other novels. Let us tell you, that before Madhura Jasraj, Pandit Jasraj died in August 2020 due to cardiac arrest. He said goodbye to the world at the age of 90. Jasraj was a classical singer who has also been awarded the Padma Bhushan. Jasraj and Madhura Pandit's daughter Durga is a musician and actress. At the same time, their son Sharang Dev is a music director.
