Mrunal had fought with the makers for a role, said- 'I had to beg...'

But that film was something I wanted to do, this is who I am and this is what happened to me. So, I fought with the producers because I came to know that someone else was going to play this character”.

Mrunal Thakur further added, "When I got to know that this film was being made, I fought for that role. I gave many auditions and screen tests. I had to literally beg for it. We shot it 2 years ago, and hopefully, it will release this year. I remember it was the last day of shooting for 'Sita Ramam' and I had to take a flight the next morning for the screen test".

Mrunal Thakur was seen in Kalki 2898 AD

At the same time, Mrinal Thakur has recently done a power cameo in Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD. The actress wrote a gratitude note for her role and also praised the performances done by Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan. Kalki is inspired by Mahabharata 2898 AD

Kalki 2898 AD is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people - a pregnant woman named Sumati (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be giving birth to a child who is the 10th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the immortal Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) who is tasked with protecting the unborn child and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter who could sell anyone in exchange for money. The film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and many other stars in lead roles.

Talking about Mrunal Thakur's work front, the actress will be seen with Prabhas once again after Kalki 2898 AD. The film is directed by Hanu Raghavapadi. ​​The film will go on the floor by September 2024 and the makers have roped in Mrunal Thakur for the lead female character. The film is a period-action drama based on the infamous Razakar movement. However, there is no official confirmation about this discussion.
