Nag Ashwin breaks his silence on Arshad Warsi's 'joker' comment

Prabhas starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD' was released in theaters across the world on 27 June 2024. The film made a tremendous collection at the box office. These days the film is making a splash on the OTT platform. At the same time, recently Arshad Warsi had commented about Kalki 2898 AD actor Prabhas looking like a joker. After this now the film director Nag Ashwin has responded to Arshad Warsi's comment.

Let us tell you that on Friday, a fan posted a clip from the science-fiction film, which also featured Prabhas, on Instagram. Sharing it, the fan wrote, "This is a scene. All of Bollywood. Kalki 2898 A.D. Prabhas". Replying to this, Nag Ashwin tweeted, "Let's not back down. No more North-South or Bollywood vs Tollywood. Let's focus on the bigger picture. A united Indian film industry. Arshad sahab (sir) should have chosen his words better. But it's okay. Sending toys to Buji for his kids. I will work hard, so I tweet. Prabhas was the best ever in K2".

Earlier, Arshad Warsi had said that he was 'sad' that Prabhas was shown as a joker in Kalki 2898 A.D. "Amit ji was unbelievable... Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he like that. He was like a joker. Why? I want to see 'Mad Max'. I want to see Mel Gibson in there. What have you made him into, yaar. Why don't you explain it to me?" Arshad's comments drew sharp criticism from Prabhas' fans.

Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD has crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark in box office collections worldwide. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The mythological and sci-fi action drama released on June 27 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur have made cameos in the film. Kalki 2898 AD is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people - a pregnant woman named Sumati (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be giving birth to a child who is the 10th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the immortal Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) who is tasked with protecting the unborn child and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter who could sell anyone in exchange for money.
