Refuting the claims, he clarified that the speculations are not true. Speaking to Zoom, he said, "No, it's just a random rumour." He revealed that his next project will be a sequel to Kalki 2898 A.D. The release date of the sequel is yet to be decided. Earlier, a Mid-Day report stated, "Ashwin has crafted a script centered on a powerful female lead - a character that demands emotional intensity and depth that's tailor-made for Alia. While the story has been kept under wraps, the narrative will tackle themes of personal resilience and empowerment in a unique, contemporary setting."
