Nag Ashwin to cast Alia Bhatt in the sequel of Kalki 2898?

Nag Ashwin, best known for directing Kalki 2898 E.D., is in the news due to reports that he is working on a female-oriented film and the project will be produced by Hyderabad-based Vaijayanti Films. It was being speculated that Alia Bhatt would play the lead role. However, Nag Ashwin addressed these rumors, here's what the filmmaker has to say about it.

Refuting the claims, he clarified that the speculations are not true. Speaking to Zoom, he said, "No, it's just a random rumour." He revealed that his next project will be a sequel to Kalki 2898 A.D. The release date of the sequel is yet to be decided. Earlier, a Mid-Day report stated, "Ashwin has crafted a script centered on a powerful female lead - a character that demands emotional intensity and depth that's tailor-made for Alia. While the story has been kept under wraps, the narrative will tackle themes of personal resilience and empowerment in a unique, contemporary setting."

Kalki 2898 AD is an ambitious science-fiction film directed by Telugu film director Nag Ashwin. It was earlier known as "Project K", and is one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema. The film is based on a futuristic world, which has a unique blend of Indian culture and modernity. The film has elements of Indian mythology as well as science fiction. It stars famous actors like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Disha Patani in lead roles. The story of the film is set in a fictional future, where there have been major changes in society and the protagonist has to face challenges.
