Official entry of the film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar in Oscar Awards

Randeep Hooda said this about his character in the film

Earlier, Randeep Hooda, who played Savarkar in his biopic 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar', shared his thoughts about the character. Randeep Hooda said, "After studying the entire story of Savarkar ji and trying to live his life and show it on screen, I got very involved in it. When people who knew Veer Savarkar, such as his family and people close to him, such as the Mangeshkar family, patted my back and said that I portrayed him very well, truthfully and powerfully, I felt great because such recognition is often very rare. Often, when you make a biopic, people close to the person say that you did not include this or did not show that. But I tried to cover his entire 53 years of life in 3 hours. So, when I get an award from him, it feels like recognition".

The film was released on March 22 

The film 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' was released in theaters on 22 March 2024. Along with acting in this film, Randeep Hooda has also directed this film. On the occasion of this film, he has stepped into direction. The actor lost 30 kg of weight to look like Savarkar. Ankita Lokhande has also played the role of Veer Savarkar's wife in this film. Through this biopic, India's freedom movement has been highlighted from a different perspective. Currently, this film is currently available to stream on the digital platform Zee5.
