Senior poet, producer, writer, and journalist Pritish Nandy died in Mumbai on Wednesday, 8 January 2025 at the age of 73. Nandy was a versatile personality, known for his contribution to journalism, poetry, and Indian cinema. Many Bollywood celebrities paid tribute to him on social media. Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed grief Kareena Kapoor Khan starred in the film Chameli (2004), produced by Pritish Nandy and his daughter Rangita under their production banner Pritish Nandy Communications. Expressing grief over the demise of producer Pritish Nandy, Kareena took to her Instagram Stories to share memories from the sets of the film. In one photo, she is seen chatting with Nandy in between shots, with a heartwarming caption with a red heart, folded hands, and infinity emojis, showing her love and respect for him. He taught me so much. I am very sad Pritish da. I could not come up with any idea for the sequel". Sanjay Dutt expressed grief Not only this, Sanjay Dutt expressed grief over the demise of Pritish Nandy and wrote on Instagram along with a black-and-white photo of the producer, "A true creative genius and kind soul, you will be missed sir. #PritishNandi". Anil Kapoor paid tribute Anil Kapoor also wrote on Instagram with the same photo of Nandy, "Shocked and saddened by the passing of my dear friend Pritish Nandy. A fearless editor, a brave soul, and a man of his word, he exuded integrity like no one else." Pritish Nandy's career Pritish Nandy was not only a renowned journalist but also hosted a popular talk show, The Pritish Nandy Show, on Doordarshan in the 1990s, where he interviewed several celebrities. As a filmmaker, Nandy made a significant impact in the early 2000s with films like Kaante, Jhankar Beats, Chameli, and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. He also produced the web series Four More Shots Please! and Modern Love Mumbai under his banner, Pritish Nandy Communications.
