Raj Kundra Fraud Case: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra is once again in legal trouble. He and Shilpa Shetty are being investigated for alleged fraud of Rs 60 crore. In this connection, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai had sent him a summons, after which he is likely to appear today. The agency has also issued a lookout notice (Raj Kundra Fraud Case) against both of them, which has barred their foreign travel.

Businessman Deepak Kothari accuses Raj Kundra of fraud 

Let us tell you that after the complaint of businessman Deepak Kothari, the EOW had registered a case againstRaj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty (Raj Kundra Fraud Case) and another person in August 2025. Deepak Kothari alleges that he has been defrauded of more than Rs 60 crore in a debt-investment deal involving his defunct company, Best Deal TV Private Limited. He claims that the money invested for business development between 2015 and 2023 was misused for personal use. The EOW is currently investigating these allegations.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra denied the allegations

On the other hand, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have denied the allegations. Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, has termed the allegations as "baseless and malicious". The lawyer said, "This is an old transaction, due to which the company got into financial crisis and ultimately got entangled in a long legal battle in NCLT. There is no criminal case in this, and our auditors have submitted all the necessary supporting documents, including detailed cash flow statements, on the request of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) from time to time". 

Raj Kundra has visited more than 15 police stations 

He further added, "The investment agreement being talked about is purely of equity investment nature. The company has already received a liquidation order, which has also been placed before the police department. The concerned charter accounts have visited the police station more than 15 times in the last one year with all the evidence supporting the claims of my clients."

According to Kothari, in April 2015, he transferred Rs 31.9 crore to the company under a share subscription agreement and Rs 28.53 crore under a supplementary agreement in September 2015. In April 2016, Shilpa Shetty (Shilpa shetty age) resigned from the post of director in September 2016 despite giving personal guarantee. The complainant later came to know that bankruptcy proceedings were going on against the company in 2017 due to default on another agreement. After this entire incident, Deepak Kothari alleged that he was deliberately misled and caused huge financial loss.
