Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: The freedom of social media has started crossing limits, and this is no longer a hidden fact. Recently, it went to an extreme when a YouTube channel crossed all boundaries of decency. The content of this channel has tarnished the respect of parents. This issue has created such a stir that it has become a topic of discussion everywhere, from social media trolling to the streets and even Parliament. A question was raised in the Parliament, FIRs were registered in police stations, and the government is being pressured to create strict laws.

The content in question is by YouTube podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, who appeared on comedian YouTuber Samay Raina's show, India’s Got Latent, where obscene remarks were made. This is an example of how far one can go in the pursuit of becoming famous overnight. Though Ranveer has apologized, there is a strong demand across the country for his arrest and punishment. FIRs have been filed against many people involved in this show, and they are now under police investigation. The people under scrutiny include Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani. They have been booked under Cyber Section 79/95/294/296 of BNS 2023. Complaints are being filed at police stations in Guwahati, Mumbai, and other parts of the country, and viewers are raising a ruckus on every social media platform. (Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy)

Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: What is the matter?

During the show, podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia made such remarks and asked such questions that shook the very foundation of civilized society. Is freedom of expression really meant to go as far as indulging in obscenity? Beyond jokes and banter, every person has respect and admiration for their parents. This show has hurt that very respect. The video and related content have been immediately removed from YouTube. Many people are curious about what the content was that caused such a stir across the nation. We can't fully share the details here, but suffice it to say, it was shocking.

In one instance, the podcaster asked a participant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it forever?" In another disturbing moment, he asked a female participant, "If I give you 2 crores, would you like to taste my... (specific body part)?" The situation became even more disturbing when the participant asked Ranveer if he had ever seen any woman’s body part after his mother gave birth to him. (Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy)

India’s Got Latent: Comedy or Controversy?

India’s Got Latent: Comedy or Controversy?

The India’s Got Latent dark comedy show – can it still be considered comedy, an expression of freedom, or a result of lax cyber crime policies? Since the show aired, people are furious. It has also come to light that much of the material in this broadcast wasn’t even original to them; they had stolen it from foreign YouTubers. The makers, Ranveer, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, and their team, might not have any respect for parents, but the broadcaster must have known that this is India, and the show's name has "India" in it. Nevertheless, there are growing calls to ban this show across the country, to punish its organizers, producers, and the personnel associated with the shooting studios, and to boycott them. Under Indian Penal Code Section 296 and BNS 2023, there are provisions for punishment related to obscene content via email, import, export, advertising, etc. Interestingly, several of these content providers and influencers have even received awards from the Prime Minister but have now forgotten their moral responsibilities. Today, they are apologizing, but does that absolve them from the responsibility of tarnishing the dignity of social media?
