Ranveer Singh cannot become Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna told this big reason!

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna is still known for his popular superhero character Shaktimaan. Recently, he has announced its new season. Ranveer Singh has been roped in for this character in the upcoming feature film Reboot. However, Mukesh Khanna has repeatedly rejected these claims. Meanwhile, Mukesh Khanna has now strongly objected to Ranveer Singh's suitability for the role.

In fact, in his recent interview, Mukesh Khanna said that he is confident that no one else can play Shaktimaan the way he does. The veteran star said, "I was in talks with Sony and I told them that I don't need to become Shaktimaan. I am Shaktimaan myself. I am not here to prove that I am better than Ranveer Singh. I believe that the new Shaktimaan will not connect with children the way I do. I have the branding of this character for 30 years. I told the channel that I am not saying that I want to become Shaktimaan. I am Shaktimaan and this film cannot be made without me. People are saying that I have work now, but what does that mean? This is my production". 

Mukesh Khanna expressed disappointment 

Mukesh Khanna also expressed disappointment at Sony for allowing rumours to spread about Ranveer Singh's casting, which forced him to publicly address the matter. The actor shared, "I am bound by a contract with Sony International that I will not discuss details, but still I spoke up because Sony spread it everywhere that this boy is playing Shaktimaan, that boy is playing Shaktimaan. Everyone started believing that he is playing the role and he did not deny it. I felt something was cooking. I stood up and announced that I am not agreeing to him playing the role of Shaktimaan". 

I am stuck on Ranveer's face - Mukesh Khanna

Talking about why he feels Ranveer Singh is not suitable for the role, he said, “An actor can do all kinds of roles, but Shaktimaan is not just any role. Just being an actor is not enough to play Shaktimaan. You need to have the right face. I am stuck on Ranveer's face, I am not stuck on his talent. People remind me that he has done a lot of work. He has played Khilji. I told him, 'He is a good actor but I am not satisfied with his face and his looks'."

Let us tell you that the television show Shaktimaan aired from 1997 to 2005. Sony Pictures India announced the Shaktimaan film in 2022. Since then Ranveer has been linked with the role, while Minnal Murali filmmaker Basil Joseph was rumored to direct.
