Raveena Tandon Refused Film with Shahrukh Khan: Here's Why

Raveena Tandon worked with Shahrukh Khan in films like Jadoo and Zamana Deewana. But there was one film with Shahrukh Khan which Raveena had to reject. In a recent interview, Raveena Tandon spoke openly about refusing to do a film with Shahrukh Khan.

In fact, Raveena Tandon in her recent interview recalled refusing films that were not in line with her principles. She said, "This film was with Shah Rukh Khan and I had almost signed it, but when it came time to discuss the costumes, the costumes were really weird. It was not something I would feel comfortable wearing. I felt it was a bit too offensive. I said, 'No, sorry, I can't wear it'".

Along with this, Raveena Tandon also praised Shah Rukh Khan and called him one of the warmest and gentlest co-actors she has worked with. She said, "Then Shah Rukh Khan said, 'Are you crazy? Why are you refusing now?' Because we were already doing a film with the best music called Jadoo. And we were doing Zamana Deewana and we actually worked together. Shah Rukh Khan is one of the funniest, warmest and gentlest co-actors who is a pleasure to work with. He is a gentleman at heart. I told him that I could not wear that dress. 'I will feel awkward, I will feel awkward'".

Costume became the reason for the actress refusing films

While Raveena Tandon recalled doing item songs like “Tip Tip Barsa Paani”, she said that the costumes she wore on-screen were never vulgar, but she definitely had issues with the films she turned down. “I have refused films for such reasons, and I think that is how the whole notion of ‘what she thinks of herself’ came about,” Raveena said.

Raveena had refused many films of Shahrukh Khan

Let us tell you that this was not the only time Raveena turned down a film with Shah Rukh Khan. Earlier, she had talked about turning down a role in the 1993 film Darr. In another interview, Raveena Tandon revealed that she was the initial choice for Darr, but some scenes made her feel uncomfortable. Which was later played by Juhi Chawla. Not only this, she was also offered a role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which eventually went to Rani Mukherjee, which she turned down because she did not want to play a second-rate role.
