Salman Khan to Portray Colonel Santosh Babu in Apoorva Lakhia's Galwan Film

Salman Khan Role in Galwan Valley Movie: Salman Khan was last seen in the action drama 'Sikandar'. The film did not perform well at the box office. At the same time, Salman Khan has been in the news for a long time regarding his upcoming film. This film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Meanwhile, a big update has come out regarding Salman Khan's upcoming film. Salman Khan's role in this film has been revealed.

The film will be shot in Ladakh and Mumbai

In fact, the film will reportedly be based on the intense backdrop of the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict, showing the real-life valor of the Indian armed forces during that period.
At the same time, according to Pinkvilla's report, "Apoorva Lakhia and Salman Khan are all set to start shooting for the film from July 2025. The film will be shot in Ladakh and Mumbai starting July over a period of 70 days. It is a 2-night story, so the logistics of a 70-day shoot seem a reality. The film stars Salman Khan as an army officer in a full-fledged film for the first time in his career and will be joined by three other actors from the younger generation". 

The shooting of the film will start in July 2025

The report further stated that Salman Khan is known for going against popular belief and has expressed his trust in Apoorva Lakhia to portray real-life struggles honestly. It was also shared that the casting process for other key roles is expected to begin soon. He further added, "As of now, the film is set to go on the floors in July 2025. This will be Salman Khan's next film, unless there is a major turn of events in the coming week. Salman believes that it is a brilliant script and the story has the scope to deliver a big-screen experience."

Who was Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu

Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu MVC was an Indian Army officer and the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment. He was killed in action (KIA) during the 2020 Sino-Indian skirmishes, the first Indian Armed Forces commissioned officer since 1967 and one of the first Indian soldiers to be KIA against the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) since 1975. He was posthumously awarded India's second-highest wartime gallantry award, the Mahavir Chakra.
