Salman Khan Watch Controversy: Salman Khan’s Ram Mandir Watch Sparks Controversy, Muslim Maulana Calls It 'Unlawful'

Salman Khan recently shared pictures on social media where he was seen wearing a Ram Janmabhoomi Edition watch. The pictures quickly garnered thousands of likes and went viral within minutes. The Sikandar star received mixed reactions regarding the promotion of the watch, with some praising him, while others, including Barelvi Maulana and All India Muslim Jamaat President Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi, called it "haram" (forbidden in Islam).

During the promotion of Sikandar, Salman Khan displayed the Ram Mandir watch, which sparked reactions and controversy. Maulana Rizvi criticized the actor, calling the act unlawful according to his religious beliefs. Maulana Rizvi told PTI, "I was asked about Salman Khan's actions in relation to Shariah. I’ll tell you what the Shariah ruling is on the matter. He is wearing a watch created for the promotion of Ram Mandir. As a Muslim, wearing such a watch is unlawful and haram."

Maulana Rizvi further added, "Salman Khan is a famous personality in India with millions of fans, and he is also a Muslim. If any Muslim, even if it’s Salman Khan, promotes Ram Mandir or any other non-Muslim thing, it is considered unlawful and haram. I urge Salman Khan to adhere to the principles of Shariah." Meanwhile, reports suggest the watch is priced at ₹34 lakh.

Salman Khan's latest fashion statement appeared quite classy, with deep cultural and spiritual significance. The limited-edition Jacob & Co. watch, created in collaboration with Ethos Watches, features intricate carvings of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The watch dial includes images of Lord Ram, Hanuman, and other Hindu deities, along with a beautiful "Jai Shri Ram" inscription, making it a collector's dream.

Talking about his upcoming project, Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film features Rashmika Mandanna and Satyaraj alongside Salman Khan, and it is set to release on March 30. Reports indicate that Salman Khan's film sold tickets worth over ₹80,000 on its opening day across three major national theater chains.
