Senior Marathi actor Atul Parchure passed away at the age of 57

Well-known Marathi cinema actor Atul Parchure passed away at the age of 57. The actor died on 14 October 2024 due to cancer. His death has caused a wave of mourning in the Marathi film and theater industry.

Atul Parchure was battling cancer for a long time

Parchure, famous for his excellent acting, had made his mark not only in Marathi cinema but also in Hindi films and television. Atul Parchure was suffering from cancer for a long time. However, last year he took physiotherapy for cancer and started shooting for the film. His death has caused a big loss to the Marathi film industry.

Atul Parchure has played various roles in many Hindi and Marathi serials. In the last few years he has played lead roles in Zee Marathi channel serials Ali Mumi Gupchili, Jaun Sun Me Ya Gharchi, Jago Mohan Dosto. He has also worked in many dramas. Atul Parchure played important roles in famous dramas Kapuskondayachi Story, Gela Madhav Kunikede, Tarun Turk Mhatre Ark, Tujhum Hai Tujpashi, Naatigoti, Vriksha Aur Valli, Tilak, Agarkar. Hence Marathi audience has loved him immensely and appreciated his work.

Atul Parchure has also worked in Bollywood

Atul Parchure was famous in Marathi film and theatre as well as in Bollywood. He appeared in many popular films including Shah Rukh Khan's Billu, Salman Khan's Partner, All the Best, Awarapan, Phir Hera Pheri, and Khichdi. He also played an important role in The Kapil Sharma Show. Following the news of his demise, fans, friends and colleagues from the industry expressed their condolences on social media.

Arjun Kapoor expressed grief

Arjun Kapoor, on his Instagram stories, wrote, "I never got the chance to work with him but he always seemed like a great person no matter what role he played. Despite battling the disease for many years, he was taken away by cancer. May his soul rest in peace".

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed condolences

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed grief over the death of Atul Parchure and wrote, "The untimely demise of the versatile Atul Parchure is extremely sad for his fans, who have seen him sometimes making them laugh and sometimes bringing tears to their eyes. His acting career has been brilliant, which started from the stage of children's theater. He left his mark in all three places - theater, film and television. Whether it was plays like Tarun Turk, Mhatra Ark or Natik Goti or the clever use of words of P.L. Deshpande, Atul Parchure added deep colors to his acting with his talent. He played notable characters in both Marathi and Hindi films. With his departure, Marathi theater has lost a great actor, which cannot be compensated. Being one of his thousands of fans, I join the grief of his family. May God give them strength to bear this loss. On behalf of the state government, I pay my heartfelt tribute to him."

Renuka Shahane shared a recent photo with Atul Parchure and wrote, “Atul Mitra.”
