Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan expressed his desire to make big films in a podcast. Along with this, Shahrukh Khan also spoke openly about his late parents Mir Taj Mohammad Khan and Latif Fatima.
Shahrukh Khan talked about his parents
In fact, recently Shah Rukh Khan appeared on the Locarno Meets podcast, where he was asked about one of his iconic films, Devdas (2002). He said that despite liking the script and the film's spectacular setting, the film could not be made initially. Answering this question, Shah Rukh said, "There came a time when we were not able to make this film and I moved on. But I was very excited to do such a film in my career. By the time I came into films, my parents had passed away. Both of them were not alive. I don't know, for some reason, I always felt that I would make films that would be very big so that my parents could see them from heaven".
Shahrukh called his idea childish
Describing the idea as "childish", Shah Rukh Khan said, "I still think my mother is a star and it works. I think I know she is a star. So I thought if I made Devdas, she would really like it. She will appreciate it."
Shahrukh worked in Devdas for his mother
Let us tell you that Shahrukh Khan decided to work in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas, even though he was forbidden to do so, but he did this only for his mother. Shahrukh Khan was not confident that he would be able to play the character of Devdas which has already been played by legendary actors like Dilip Kumar and Uttam Kumar. But Shahrukh wanted to do this for his mother. Talking about this, Shahrukh said, "Despite senior stars saying, 'Don't do this'. I just wanted to do this, perhaps to tell my mother 'Hey mother, I have done Devdas. For me, it was the first time and also to work with Mr. Bhansali".
Devdas was released in the year 2002
Devdas was finally made and turned out to be a blockbuster hit. It also starred Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit, and Jackie Shroff in important roles and remains one of SRK's best performances to date. The film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Bharat Shah. The film is based on Saratchandra Chattopadhyay's novel Devdas. The film was released in theatres on 12 July 2002.
Shahrukh Khan will be seen in King
Talking about Shah Rukh Khan, King Khan was seen in Rajkumar Hirani's Donkey in the year 2023. Now he is preparing for Sujoy Ghosh's King with Suhana Khan. Shah Rukh and Suhana will reportedly play parallel lead roles in the film. According to reports, King will feature Shah Rukh in the fascinating role of a notorious underworld figure. The film is a joint production between Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand's Marflix Pictures, which is further increases the curiosity about this exciting project.
