Rajinikanth also arrived at the venue dressed in white. Before leaving for Delhi, he told the press, "I am going to attend the swearing-in ceremony. This is a very historic event. Taking office for the third consecutive time is a great achievement for Narendra Modi, my heartiest congratulations to him. People have chosen a strong opposition which is a healthy sign for democracy".

More than 8,000 guests from various fields attended the ceremony held in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. This swearing-in occurred after the NDA won a majority in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
