'Sher Shah' is based on Captain Vikram Batra

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra starrer 'Sher Shah' was released in the year 2021 and the film was well received. The story of the film was based on Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra. Vikram Batra sacrificed his life in the service of the nation while capturing Indian territories from Pakistani intruders during the Kargil War in 1999. The film received widespread praise for both its story and the acting of its lead actors. Sidharth Malhotra in the role of Captain Vikram Batra and Kiara Advani in the role of Batra's girlfriend Dimple Cheema contributed to the success and emotional depth of the film. The film was streamed on Amazon Prime on 12 August 2021 due to the closure of cinema halls due to Kovid. However, after watching the film, people felt that the film was made to be released in theaters.

'Sher Shah' has been honored with many awards

Last year in 2023, Siddharth Malhotra expressed his gratitude for 'Sher Shah' winning the Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards. He took to social media to share his feelings, in which he wrote, "Sher Shah is a special film for me. I feel honored and humbled as it has become my first film to win a National Award".
