Boney Kapoor and Sridevi's marriage was a successful one until Sridevi passed away. However, the filmmaker never forgets to reminisce about the actress in his interviews. Recently, Boney revealed that when he proposed to the veteran actress Sridevi, she was shocked as he was married and had two kids. Nevertheless, he slowly convinced her and their marriage remained happy.
Sridevi did not talk
In an interview, Boney Kapoor shared unknown details about his love affair with Sridevi. Expressing his undying love and commitment for the Chandni actress, the Wanted producer recalled that when he proposed to Sridevi, she did not speak to him for months as he was already married to Mona Shourie and had two children Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. Boney said, "It took me four-five-six years to convince her. When I proposed to her, she did not speak to me for six months. She said, 'You are married and you have two kids; how can you talk to me like this?' But I said what was in my heart and luck favoured me."
He did not hide his feelings from his first wife
Despite being married, Kapoor admitted that although he loved Sridevi, he never hid any details about his feelings from his first wife Mona Shourie. He confessed that no one is perfect in love and gave his own example, saying that when he fell in love with the English Vinglish actress, he was already married, yet he ensured complete transparency from his side. The filmmaker said that he remained friends with his first wife until her death because he believed in honesty.
Boney explained, "It is always better to be honest to your partner, and similarly, you should be honest to your children as well. I am a friend to my children, I am a mother to my children, I am a father to my children." He admitted that understanding is very important in a relationship, and it grows with time. Also, trust issues are also important for a relationship to last long. Despite several issues between them, Boney Kapoor and Sridevi's love story made a beautiful journey to marriage, and the couple had two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. They both have made their mark in the film industry. But, after more than two decades of successful marriage, the veteran actress tragically passed away in 2018.
