Stree 2 director reacts to the film's blockbuster success

Amar Kaushik's film Stree 2 was released in theaters on 15 August. This film starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao has broken records at the box office and has become the highest-grossing film of 2024 so far. Meanwhile, now the filmmaker has expressed his reaction to the great collection of Stree 2.

Let us tell you that filmmaker Amar Kaushik shared his approach to the making of Stree 2. He said, “I don't know about other films, but we don't run after any star. We don't build our story around a star. Instead, we first create the story and then choose the right people for it. I remember five years ago I was also feeling the same as the audience, thinking, 'Where is the story?' Everything revolved around the star, and I didn't like it. The audience is smart. They know what you are trying to sell them. We need to make films that can connect with them. After all, we are serving the audience, and I want them to walk out of the theater with entertainment. You cannot deny the value of a star, but everything should not revolve around them. You need to build a star together with your team, and not just depend on one person.”

Along with this, producer Amar Kaushik also talked about Akshay Kumar's much-talked-about cameo in Stree 2. The filmmaker revealed that he had approached Akshay Kumar for a cameo while working together on his upcoming film Sky Force. After listening to the story and his dialogues, Akshay Kumar immediately agreed.

Amar Kaushik, while sharing his experience of working with Akshay Kumar, said, “Akshay sir really enjoyed being on the set. He wanted multiple versions of the same scene and would take it multiple times. I was just watching his energy and enjoying it a lot. I put Abhishek Banerjee in the scene and told him to act bindaas with him and the way it came out, we were rolling on the floor laughing on the set. It was also an improvised scene. So, I was making Abhishek sit inside, but Akshay sir added the line, 'Come sit on my lap', in response Abhishek added the COVID line. The script was funny, but the way he acted. This is how you make a scene beautiful”.

For your information, let us tell you that Stree 2 is making a lot of noise at the box office. Not only this, Stree 2 has become the highest collection film of 300 crores within just five days. While sharing his thoughts on the success of the film, the filmmaker said, "I did not expect such a huge response. I think the audience wants such films. Wherever I went, people kept asking me 'What is the end of Stree?' This film is made on public demand. We did not hurry in making this film because we wanted to do justice to the story. When we released the trailer, we felt that the audience would like it but when we started advance ticket sales, we felt, 'What is happening?' It is just the love of the public".
